Pleasant Grove's Office Growth and Its Historic Core
Pleasant Grove's population barely changed from 2020 to 2025, but its office space did not stand still. Valley Grove, a 130-acre business community by St. John Properties at Pleasant Grove Boulevard and North County Boulevard, broke ground in 2022 on its Valley Grove III building: 140,768 square feet of Class A office for up to 700 employees, part of a build-out projected at $1 billion. When the project's early phase broke ground in 2017, its plans described room for more than 7,000 additional employees. The essential-oils company doTERRA also has its headquarters in town, completed in 2014, and listed 4,461 employees in 2022.
Multi-tenant office buildings change occupants one suite at a time. Each tenant needs a key that opens only its own space, the building manager needs a master, and the cleaning crew needs something in between. A master key system is built for exactly that, and planning it once beats rekeying a whole floor every time a lease turns over.
The older part of town has its own key problem. Pleasant Grove was settled in 1850, and the city's neighborhood map still names Mud Hole, once the town's merchandising and entertainment area. Churches, community halls, and small businesses there often hand keys to volunteers, part-timers, and family members over many years, until nobody is sure how many copies exist.
