From the Marina to Dry Canyon: Lockouts in Lindon
Lindon still bills itself as "a little bit of country," and the numbers back it up. Census estimates put owner-occupancy at 80.5%, with 77.4% of homes single-family detached and a median build year of 1997. In a house you own, a lost key has no backup at a leasing office, and with a median home value of about $675,500, few owners want a drilled deadbolt or a pried door edge. That's why picking or bypassing the lock comes first.
Vehicle lockouts tend to happen at the edges of town:
- Lindon Marina at 2130 W 600 South, with two launch ramps where a truck key can end up locked in the cab mid-launch
- The paved Dry Canyon trailhead lot at the top of 200 South, the same road as Orem's 2000 North
- The independent car lots along State Street, where one missing key can stall a sale
Business calls come from the 700 North Business Corridor, a five-lane parkway with more than 250 commercial acres, and from the office and warehouse buildings west of I-15. A storefront cylinder that won't turn or a lost master key there can leave a building unsecured overnight, so it's worth fixing before morning.
