Lehi's Tech Corridor Changes What an Emergency Looks Like
Lehi sits at the center of Silicon Slopes, with Adobe's campus near Cabela's, Texas Instruments' chip fabs, and offices for Ancestry, Vivint, DigiCert, and Purple Innovation. The same corridor holds smaller office suites and the 50-plus stores at the Outlets at Traverse Mountain, with commercial levers, storefront cylinders, and exit devices. When one fails at closing or a manager loses the master key, the space can't sit open overnight, so we repair or replace the cylinder and lock it up again.
Homes here are mostly post-2000: 76.1% were built in 2000 or later, the median Lehi home dates to 2007, and three in four are owner-occupied. Many sit in master-planned areas like Traverse Mountain and Holbrook Farms off 2100 North. With 24.4% of workers based at home, per Census estimates, a house lockout can mean a lost workday too.
Cars get locked at Thanksgiving Point's gardens and museums, the outlets on Cabelas Boulevard, and the Lehi FrontRunner station on Ashton Boulevard, with more than 735 free spaces. Winter is harsher at this end of the valley: NOAA's lake-level Utah Lake Lehi station averages a 19.0°F January low and about 149 freezing nights a year, and Point of the Mountain, at the city's north edge, is a windy gap.
