Lehi's Growth Puts a Lot of Keys in Circulation
Lehi now edges out Orem as Utah's 6th most populous city, at 95,313 in the Census Bureau's 2025 estimate. In July 2025 the Postal Service split off ZIP code 84048 for northern Lehi, on both sides of I-15, citing rapid growth. Each move-in hands someone a set of locks with a key history they cannot see.
Most Lehi homes are young but not brand new: 76.1% were built in 2000 or later, split between the 2000s boom (35.0%) and the years from 2010 on (41.1%), with a median build year of 2007. That creates two common rekey jobs:
- A resale from the 2000s. Original builder locks, one or two earlier owners, and spares you will never track down.
- A new build in a master plan. Traverse Mountain covers about 5,000 homes, with Canyon Point among its final phases, and Ivory's Holbrook Farms sits off 2100 North. Homes there were open to crews right up to closing.
Lehi also has a higher work-from-home share than Orem, American Fork, or Pleasant Grove: 24.4% of workers, per Census commuting data. When the house doubles as an office, it is worth knowing exactly who can open the front door.
