Payson Anchors the South County's Health Care and Business
Payson is the southern end of our service area and a regional center in its own right. Mountain View Hospital at 1000 East 100 North is a 124-bed hospital with roots going back to 1914, and the city lists Mountainland Technical College, the Payson Business Innovation Center, and a planned Utah Valley University campus among its workforce assets. Its 2025 housing plan counted about 714 business licenses in the city.
Those businesses sit mainly along Highway 198, Main Street, the 800 South corridor, Utah Avenue, and the Payson Business Park, about 1,531 acres in all, or 17% of the city. That spread mixes older storefronts on historic Main Street with newer buildings on the highway corridors and in the business park. More is coming: UDOT has funding for a new I-15 interchange in Payson near the planned commuter-rail stop, and the Mountainland Association of Governments projects about 27,598 residents by 2030.
Health care shapes much of the door work in a hospital town. Medical buildings serve patients with walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers, so closers and levers matter as much as the lock itself. A door that slams, or takes too much force to open, is a daily problem at a front desk. Medication, records, and supply rooms need locks that stay locked and keys that stay with authorized staff.
