Home Locks in Vineyard, a City Built After 2010
In 2010, Vineyard had 139 residents; by mid-2025 the Census Bureau estimated 16,092, and the housing reflects that pace. The American Community Survey puts the median year built at 2015. Only a third of homes are single-family detached houses; 20.8% are attached townhome-style units and 33.0% are in buildings of 10 units or more. Most front doors still carry the hardware the builder picked, which works but is rarely the strongest lock on the market.
Most households here rent, 55.3% by the same survey. A tenant who wants a new lock or a keypad needs written permission from the owner or property manager first, and we ask to see it before changing anything. Lockouts are handled differently: show us a lease or an ID with the address, and we work on getting you inside.
Two more local details matter on the day of a call. Vineyard bans street parking during snowfall, and the Providence and Springs neighborhoods require street-parking permits, so tell us where our van can park. Nights by the lake may also run colder than on the bench. No NOAA station in Vineyard reports climate normals, but NOAA's lakeside Utah Lake Lehi station, about 9 miles northwest, has a 19.0°F average January low, and cold like that drains keypad lock batteries faster.
